Welcome to Palmetto Middle School’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Our organization of involved parents, students and teachers is proud to be the largest PTA in Miami-Dade County and the second largest in the State of Florida. We have 1,662 parent, student, faculty and business members who are committed to enriching the educational environment at Palmetto Middle.

The mission of the PTA is threefold:

· To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;

· To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise, protect and prepare their children;

· To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this state.

Staying informed is essential (but not easy) for parents when students are in middle school. The PMS PTSA facilitates the home/school connection with e-mail updates via our PTSA Link (PTSALink@bellsouth.net) and a professionally edited “Lancer Letter” which is mailed to students’ homes and available in the main office.

We invite you to join us at our next PTSA meeting! It is the best way to stay connected to your child’s school.
